I have just returned from Arizona Business and Education Coalition’s three hour “Crash Course on School Finance.” What fun.!

The attached draft ATTAIN (Achievement Through Technology and Innovation) bill is a quick read even at 50 pages double spaced. eSCHOOL News Online reported yesterday that this draft legislationi has just been included as a section (Part F) in the proposed renewal of the No Child Left Behind Act.

In the tenth year since Al Shanker’s death, Richard Kahenberg has authored “Tough Liberal …” (Columbia Univ. Press) that addresses Al’s battles over schools, unions, race and democracy. As the legendary president of American Federation of Teachers Al was the quintessential advocacy leader.
